Various Medical Billing & Collections opportunities available in Lower Westchester County. We work with non-profit organizations as well as medical groups who are seeking Account Representatives and Billing/Collections Representatives. Please see the job description below. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Register and update patient demographics on Practice Management System (PMS)
  • Verify insurance coverage as needed.
  • Obtain signed RCM departmental forms as well as any required by any state agencies and or third parties payors from patients as needed
  • Address insurance denials on a timely basis as needed.
  • Run A/R reports/tasks to stay current for assigned accounts.
  • Write and submit timely reconsiderations and appeals to insurance carriers as needed.
  • Work and respond to all associated incoming correspondence for assigned accounts.
  • Handle incoming phone calls from patients and insurance carriers.
  • Perform appropriate follow up and collection calls to patients and insurance carriers for outstanding balances of assigned accounts.
  • Submit Timely Patient Refund Requests/Submissions.
  • Address Insurance and other Third Party Refund Requests as needed with BCS.
  • File all work in batches, including any written correspondence sent from this office, and document the patient’s account in the PM/EMR system.
  • Help with other tasks as needed to maintain RCM department’s work and office flow.
  • Advise BCS of any discrepancies or issues regarding billing and collections practices by physicians or other employees of the practice.
  • Follow HIPAA and any state and federal laws to stay in compliance with policies, procedures, workflows and best practices.
  • Assist and/or cover others within the department as needed.
  • Work on departmental projects as implemented by department Director, Supervisor and/or Team Lead.
  • Assignments and any other tasks needed to be performed and/or completed within or for the department.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Experience with billing, collections and follow ups (with insurance carriers) a MUST
  • Medicaid billing experience a plus
